Dear Mr. Potter

"Books! And cleverness!  There are more important things--friendship and bravery."
-- Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone

This was my submission for Dear Mr. Potter.  I just thought I would share it with you all as well.  As I'm sure you noticed, Harry Potter forever changed me. (:

Also, Chapter Three Spoilers:

We meet Auror Octavian Conrad.
Lily and James each write a letter.
Peter talks back to a teacher.
James quotes Shakespeare.

We've just had a snowstorm here, so after I go out and freeze for a long time, I'll definitely get some writing done.  I've got about 5,000 words already.

  2. Harry Potter has changed me so much-I didn't like to read or write before I read the series, now it's the only thing I do!!! I don't know what I'd be without Harry Potter or J.K. Rowling. Chapter 3 sounds really good!!

  3. I agree with you both. Harry Potter has had a HUGE impact on my life. It inspired me to go into publishing. Without it, I truly don't know where I would be. I never knew how much I loved to write before Harry Potter, and now I can never imagine doing anything else. It's changed me irrevocably and I can't thank JKR enough.

As for chapter three--I hope so!

  4. Yeah, Harry Potter's my biggest writing inspiration too. I think it is for most of us. JKR is a complete genius, and like you two, I don't know where my writing would be without her.

It will be, I'm sure :)

  6. Yeah, I saw that picture on your tumblr saying, "The thing about growing up with Harry Potter us that you sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve," and I was thinking how that sort of defines my life :)
